It was the first national programme with a cross-sectoral approach to promoting a sustainable circular economy for plastics. The programme aimed to reduce littering and avoid unnecessary consumption,  while significantly increasing the recovery of plastic waste by introducing diverse and adequate recycling solutions.

One result of the programme is a comprehensive overview (roadmap) of the advantages and disadvantages of plastics. The roadmap includes guidelines and proposals for measuring how to assess and overcome plastic related challenges.

ResQ is an application based digital market place where people can buy leftover food from restaurants, cafes and grocery stores at discount prices. ResQ is aiming to zero food waste. With the help of food waste application cafeterias, restaurants and stores can sell meals and food that would otherwise be thrown into trash. Users can see on the map of the phone application the locations near them where they can pick up leftover food.

Plogging is a global phenomenon / movement that anyone can join and directly help and contribute to the community. Plogging means picking up thrashes while jogging, but it can be done while walking, running, hiking, biking or whatever is your way to move in nature. Plogging is presented being a change of attitude and being a proud garbage collector who do something for our environment and health before it is too late. The website provides a worldwide map where one can find Global Cleanup Events to familiarize themselves with plogging. In Finland, events are organized by local associations, for example, Itämeri Plogging – Natura Viva where plogging is made by kayaks along the Baltic Sea cost.
