Why is Recycling Knowledge and Behaviour important?
- Recycling has a direct impact on pollution prevention. The manufacturing of new products and the extraction of raw materials result in substantial greenhouse gas emissions. By recycling, we can significantly mitigate these emissions and reduce pollution levels.
- If recycling were to be abandoned, landfills would quickly reach their capacity, resulting in overflow and pollution. Our seas would become burdened with waste, threatening marine life and ecosystems. Eventually, waste would infiltrate our surroundings, leading to the destruction of natural habitats.
