Get inspired from sustainable stories
An energy cooperative is an initiative of local residents, who join forces and get to work with sustainable, local electricity. This can be done by jointly investing in the generation of solar or wind power. For example, if you do not have your own roof or if no solar panels fit on your roof. In The Netherlands, there are various examples of energy cooperatives. It is estimated that at least 70.000 citizens in The Netherlands are part of this kind of cooperatives.
Steffie is a form of e-learning in The Netherlands that has been offering independent and comprehensible information in this country since 2002. In simple terms and supported by images and animations they discuss complex topics. Last year, Steffie also made a website explaining sustainability and providing simple information about what citizens can do to act more sustainability in their everyday life.

Funergy is a European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and involved a card game, accompanied by an app since 2018. Its aim is to educate children on reducing energy consumption with a gamification approach. The game uses the new European Energy Scale, to identify the energy consumption of household appliances. It has been developed from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
